Bicycle Rental Zakopane - E-bike, Hardtail and MTB on the Tatra Mountains Trails

Zakopane isn't just a winter destination. When the snow melts and the Tatra trails open up, the mountains transform into one of the most stunning cycling landscapes in Poland. Whether you want to leisurely cycle along the floor of the Kościeliska Valley or tackle the demanding climbs towards Hala Gasienicowa, we have the right bike for you.

Our bike rental shop at Nowotarska 21F offers electric bikes (e-bikes), hardtail mountain bikes (MTB hardtails), and classic mountain bikes for individuals, couples, families, and groups. There's no need to bring your own bike on the train or cram it into the car. Just arrive, choose your bike, and hit the trail.

What kind of bikes can you find in our rental?

Electric bikes (e-bikes) – climbs without effort

Electric bikes are a true revolution in mountain biking. The Zakopane terrain is beautiful, but even demanding, experienced cyclists can feel the altitude and steepness of the Tatra trails. On an e-bike, these climbs become effortless. The electric motor supports your uphill pedaling, allowing you to focus on what's truly important: the views of the Tatra National Park, the scent of spruce forests, and the silence of the valley trail, away from traffic.

Our e-bikes are suitable for cyclists of all fitness levels. Never ridden an e-bike before? No problem, I'll show you how it works before you set off. They're intuitive, safe, and simply amazing.

  • Electric power steering - several power modes to choose from
  • Long battery range – enough for a full day of riding, including Droga pod Reglami, Kościeliska Valley or Chocholowska Valley
  • Front shock absorber - comfortable on gravel and forest paths
  • Hydraulic disc brakes - confident braking on steep descents
  • Available for adults and older teenagers

Hardtail MTB – for those who like to feel the trail

If you're an experienced cyclist who prefers direct contact with the trail, our hardtail mountain bikes are perfect for you. Featuring a lightweight frame, responsive handling, and a sturdy fork, these bikes are for riders who know what they're doing and want to challenge themselves on the more technical singletrack around Zakopane.

Hardtail is perfect for:

  • Cross-country (XC) routes on the trails of Podhale
  • Gravel driveways and forest paths around Kościelisko and Bukowina Tatrzańska
  • Cyclists looking for a true, unassisted workout in pure mountain biking
  • Fit cyclists who want to explore more remote areas of the Tatra Mountains

Trekking and mountain bikes – comfort on every road

For guests who want to explore Zakopane and the surrounding Podhale region at their own pace, riding the Droga pod Reglami trail, visiting the Gubałówka ridge, or following the Dunajec River cycling trail, our trekking bikes provide a comfortable, upright riding position and a smooth ride on mixed surfaces.

  • Suitable for all fitness levels
  • Great for families with older children
  • Perfect for exploring Zakopane by bike - Krupowki, Gubalowka, Antalowka

Children's bikes - discover the mountains from an early age

Traveling with children? We also have bikes for younger riders, appropriately sized and safe for the gentle terrain of Zakopane's valleys and meadows. A child's bike helmet is included in the rental price.

Cycling routes in Zakopane and the surrounding area – where to go?

Zakopane and the wider Podhale region offer some of the most scenic cycling routes in southern Poland. Here are our favorites—all accessible directly from Nowotarska, perfect for both e-bikes and mountain bikes:

  • Droga pod Reglami - Zakopane's iconic cycling route. A wide, mostly flat gravel road runs along the foothills of the Tatra Mountains, from Kuźnice through Strazyska Valley to the Kościeliska Valley. Breathtaking views of high peaks await. Suitable for all levels. Approximately 15 km each way.
  • Kościeliska Valley — One of the most magnificent valleys in the Tatra Mountains. The lower section, accessible to cyclists, leads through a limestone gorge with turquoise streams and sheer rock walls. Perfect for e-bikes. Approximately 10 km from Zakopane.
  • Chocholowska Valley — The largest valley in the Polish Tatra Mountains. A long ascent through open meadows—great for e-bikes due to the considerable distances. Chocholowska Glade is especially beautiful in spring. About 20 km from Zakopane.
  • Gubalowka Ridge — For those who take the gondola to Gubalowka (1,123 m above sea level), panoramic views of the entire Tatra Mountains are available. You can continue west along dirt roads through Poronin and Biały Dunajec. Suitable for e-bikes and hardtails.
  • Podhale Loop — A longer detour through the villages of Podhale—Murzasichle, Bialka Tatrzanska, and Bukowina Tatrzańska. Typical highland landscapes. Best enjoyed on an e-bike.
  • The Tatra Mountains Trail - For the ambitious. A full loop around the Tatras is approximately 150 km, best completed over 2-3 days. Sections accessible from Zakopane can be completed in stages by e-bike.

Our staff will be happy to suggest routes tailored to your group, fitness level, and available time. Just ask.

Zakopane by bike – what's worth knowing

Cycling in Zakopane and the foothills of the Tatra Mountains is a completely different experience than cycling in the lowlands. The air is clean, the scenery is stunning, and the network of marked cycling routes—the Podhale Cycling Routes—has expanded significantly in recent years. Tatra National Park has designated specific cycling routes within the park, and beyond the park, hundreds of kilometers of trails await through the highland villages and forests of Podhale.

Important information before departure:

  • Cycling within Tatra National Park is permitted only on designated trails, including the lower sections of the Koscieliska Valley and the Chochołowska Valley. Cycling off-trails in the park is prohibited.
  • The Podtatrze cycling network connects Zakopane with Nowy Targ, Rabka-Zdrój and the Pieniny Mountains – enabling multi-day cycling trips.
  • Summer weekends can be hectic on popular routes – we recommend leaving early, before 9am, for the best experience.
  • The weather in the Tatra Mountains changes rapidly. Always bring a light raincoat, even in sunny weather.

Locals with a passion for the mountains – we rent equipment because we love it

BeszterdaZakopane began as apartments lodgings in the heart of Zakopane for guests who love the mountains. Over time, our guests kept asking the same questions: where to rent skis, where to get a good bike, which trail to choose. So we took matters into our own hands. Today, we rent skis and snowboards in winter and bikes in summer right here on Nowotarska, the road leading straight towards the Tatra Mountains.

We're a small, local company, not a chain. When you rent from us, you're talking to people who live here, ride these trails, and genuinely want you to have a great time in Zakopane.
